The Autumn Budget is fast approaching. What could it mean for your business?

The Autumn Budget will be announced on 28 October, and businesses across the UK will be watching closely for changes that could affect their costs, cash flow and future plans.

Ahead of any Budget, there is naturally a period of uncertainty. Business owners may delay purchasing equipment, taking on new staff, moving premises or investing in growth until they have a clearer picture of what lies ahead.

However, putting every decision on hold is not always the best option.

The weeks leading up to the Budget are a good opportunity to review your finances and consider how prepared your business would be for any changes. This could include looking at your current cash position, upcoming tax commitments, existing borrowing and any planned investment over the next six to twelve months.

It may also be worth asking a few simple questions:

Do you have enough working capital available if costs increase…?

Could a lack of cash prevent you from taking on new work…?

Are existing repayments limiting your ability to invest…?

Will you need to purchase vehicles, machinery or equipment in the coming months…?

If an opportunity arose after the Budget, would your business be ready to act…?

This is where we can help.

We work with businesses across a wide range of industries to find funding that supports their plans. This could be a business loan to provide additional working capital, asset finance for new equipment, invoice finance to help manage payment gaps or a revolving credit facility that can be used when required.

We can also review existing borrowing to see if another structure may be more suitable for the way your business currently operates.

There is no single funding option that works for every company. The right solution will depend on your circumstances, what the funding is for and how you would prefer to repay it. Our team can talk you through the available options and approach a wide panel of lenders on your behalf – finding you the best option and rate.

The Budget may bring change, but having a clear financial plan can put your business in a stronger position to respond to it.
